“From Scratch” started from a simple cake for a Christmas bake sale many years ago. It was that small cake that fueled Michelle to do more. She began searching, watching videos and teaching herself everything she needed to know about making a cake. What started as a hobby has now become a passion and a prosperous business. Michelle strives to provide her clients with not only a great looking cake but a product that is unique and tastes as good as it looks. Her attention to detail and dedication to not only her product but also her clients is one of the things she’s proud of. She takes pride in her product and without her clients there would be no From Scratch.
Stephanie’s passion for baking and decorating began when her daughter turned 1. As a stay-at-home mom, she wanted to try her hands at making cupcakes and eventually cookies in order to cut cost when it came to her kids birthdays. Through numerous online videos and experimenting with different techniques, she taught herself the skills needed to begin decorating cupcakes and eventually cookies. This hobby has now formed into a business known as “Sunny J’s”. Sunny J’s provides customizable cupcakes and cookies. Stephanie strives to provide the best for her clients not only in the looks of her products but in the taste. She has been teaching cookie decorating classes since 2016, and loves seeing her passion spill into others.
A graduate of St. Philips College with an associates degree in baking and pastry arts, Marnie worked as a pastry chef for several years downtown on the riverwalk at Hotel Contessa Suites on the Riverwalk.
